The Friends of Hoover/Durant Public Library is a group of residents that have been organizing to bring an Oakland Public Library branch back to the neighborhood. Its members hope the walking tour will generate enough community support to convince the city to fund the project.

This June 19th at the SPARC-It-Place (3419 San Pablo Ave) the project team will launch a cultural asset map and digital walking tour that celebrates our neighborhood, our history, and Black Liberation. Stay tuned in July for a new mural by the Bay Area Mural Program and mural walking tour building on this theme.
